Creating Learning - Courses

Courses can be created and then either assigned individually or added to a Course Packet (see Creating Learning - Course Packets). 

Step 1: Access the Learning Settings 

  • Click the Settings icon at the top-right of any screen. 
  • In the Settings menu that appears on the top-left, select Learning
  • Click Courses.  

Must Know! Only Super Admin and Full Access users for the facility can access this area.

Managing Courses

  • Add a Course: Click the Add Course button.
  • Once a course is added, the following options become available in the course row:
    • View Course Details: Click on the course to expand and view the information. 
    • Edit a Course: Click the white Actions button next to the course row, then select Edit Course
    • Deactivate a Course: Click the white Actions button next to the course row, then select Deactivate
    • Delete a Course: Click the white Actions button next to the course row, then select Delete Course

Customizing the Course

Must Know! The name, user types, course material and category and description are required. If any field is missing, a pink exclamation markcircle-exclamationwill appear.

When adding or editing a course, the following options are available:

  • Course Name: Enter a course name that makes sense for the content. 
  • User Types: Choose whether the course is available to Staff and/or Providers. 
  • Upload Course Material: Upload materials as PDF or video files. Supported video formats include: .opus, .ogv, .mp4, .mov, .m4v, .mkv (mp4/ogg/x-matroska formats), .f4v 
    • After uploading, the material can be downloaded or deleted. 
  • Course Category: Select an existing category or enter a new one. 
  • Course Description: Provide a brief description of the course. 

Helpful Hint: The description can be used for quick reference in surveys, legal documents, and other related contexts.

  • Learning Objectives: List the goals for completing the course as needed. 

Course Exam 

  • Passing Score: Set the passing score for the exam. The default is 80%, but it can be adjusted to any value between 0 and 100. 
  • Create Exam Questions: 
    • Click the Add Exam Question button
    • Enter the question text. 
    • Choose the Answer Type
      • Checkboxes (for multiple-choice answers) 
      • Dropdown (for one answer to be selected) 
      • Radio Buttons (for one option to be selected) 
    • Enter the possible answers: 
      • Add the first answer, then click the plus icon to add more. 
      • Mark the correct answer by toggling the button to the right. 
      • Continue adding answers until all options are listed. 
      • Use the icons to edit or remove answers. 
  • Once all questions are entered, click the Done button or click elsewhere on the course. 

Helpful Hint: If using Checkboxes (multiple correct answers), ensure each correct answer is toggled to the right.

Must Know! Course CE is for RFX Use Only.

Once the course setup is complete, click the Done button at the top-right of the screen. 

Must Know! If any required fields were left incomplete, the course cannot be activated.

The course is now ready to be added to a packet or assigned individually (see Assigning Learning).
